Westfield Woden diverted 36 tonnes of organic waste from landfill to produce natural fertilizer from worms.
Our Westfield Woden centre (ACT) sent organic waste from fresh food and restaurant retailers to Abel Organic Recycling (Abel), a family-owned vermicomposting business in Canberra. Abel uses organic waste unfit for sale including fruit, vegetables, coffee grounds and scraps to feed worms, which produce fertilizer to grow the next season’s crops.
